We have gone through a very difficult period, during which we concentrated on ways to stop the bleeding. We have achieved much more quickly than expected. It is the fruit of this work, carried out internally by the managers of the company, that we wanted to summarize in this enterprise project, called "Embark", which presents the key elements of our strategy for the next three years.

What are the main focus of this plan

The first is the return to profitable growth. Our goal is to achieve an operating margin of 7 in three years and a Roce (return on capital employed) by about 8. This is a goal higher than achieved before the crisis (which did not exceed 7 of Roce). But it is the level of profitability necessary to finance our investments, reduce our debt and think of our shareholders. The second element is the development of international partnerships, through the SkyTeam alliance, which will be expanded considerably in the coming months. To be effective in a globalised economy more and more drawn by the emerging markets, we need effective partners in these markets. We will bring them our know-how and our consumer base to high revenues in exchange for access to their huge markets. The best example is China, where three new partners, China Southern, China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines, represent more than 40 of the traffic. In the coming months, we should also allow China Airlines, Aerolineas Argentinas, Indonesian Garuda, the Lebanese Middle East Airlines and the company of Saudi Arabia (Saudi Arabian Airlines) in which I will make in the next few days.

Are there other issues

Yes, our third strategic axis passes through the development of the relationship with the client. Expectations have also changed. He seeks more autonomy, but is also expected to be treated as a VIP, particularly for problem. We must therefore continue our efforts, being particularly advanced in the use of new technological tools, or even leaving the client to the personal contact, greater flexibility to deal with the hazards.

What are your growth objectives

Our business is long-haul air travel. However, in this area, Air France-KLM rest leader, with the largest offer of long-haul destinations out of Europe, Lufthansa and British Airways. The Lufthansa Group has a number of more important Affairs, but with greater than ours, as well as medium-haul activity in maintenance and "catering". The priority is clearly the return to balance in 2011. We have already made much of the path, the success of the NEO offer, that return business passengers. The next phase will be the implementation of our project databases province, will, if it succeeds, allow us to significantly lower our cost (in the order of 15, Editor's note) on the lines point to point, greatly increasing productivity. We plan to open a first base in June (probably in Nice, Editor's note) and three others before April 2012.

What will be the impact on employment

For drivers, it will be a little longer, because we have of overmanning, but the opening of the bases of province will lead to hirings from 2012.
